Privacy Policy

Kozhikode Workers ("we", "us") is an app that connects customers in Kozhikode, Kerala with local skilled workers and delivery partners. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
All users
- Login details: your name, email address and profile ID from Google Sign-In, or your mobile number if you log in with OTP.
- Device notification token: so we can send booking and job updates to your phone.
- Complaints and feedback you send us.
Customers and businesses
- Booking details: name or shop name, mobile number, area, address (and drop address for deliveries), job description, date and time, price, and your rating and review of the worker.
Workers and delivery partners
- Profile: name, profile photo, skills, work areas, experience, hourly and daily charges, vehicle type, availability, ratings and reviews.
- Private details: mobile number, type of ID proof, and vehicle number.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or payment card details.
How we use it
- To take bookings, confirm prices, and assign a suitable worker.
- To verify workers before they receive jobs.
- To send notifications about bookings, jobs, approvals and replies.
- To handle complaints, prevent misuse, and keep the service safe (for example, blocking accounts that misuse the app).
- To understand which services are popular, using booking counts.
Who can see your information
- Public worker profiles (name, photo, skills, areas, charges, vehicle type, rating and reviews) are visible to app users once our team approves the worker. Reviews show the customer's first name only.
- A worker's mobile number is shown to a customer only after our team assigns that worker to the customer's booking.
- A customer's name, phone and address are shown to the worker assigned to that booking.
- Our team (app administrators) can see bookings, worker details and complaints to run the service.
We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising.
Service providers
We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Cloud Functions and Hosting) to store data and send notifications. Data is stored on Google servers in India (Mumbai region). Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
How long we keep data
Your account and worker profile are kept until you delete your account. Booking records and complaints are kept for up to 3 years after the booking for our records, to resolve disputes, and as required by law; after that they are deleted.
Deleting your account
Open the app → Account (or Profile in worker mode) → Delete my account. This deletes your login, account details and worker profile straight away. You can also ask us to delete your account using the account deletion page.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Access is controlled by security rules so that, for example, worker phone numbers and ID details are readable only by the worker and our team.
Children
The app is not meant for children under 18. Workers must be at least 18 years old.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
